once and awhile
i wonder
if i dropped dead
how many days
until someone noticed

the rest of the time
i cherish
not being dead and
how many days
are left for me to love

it doesn’t matter
i proclaim
cause i’ll be dead
how many days
that’s the coroner’s problem
