The Merry Monstrosity

The Merry Monstrosity

What do you see when you look into the eyes of the Merry Monstrosity? Probably not much, because, as we all know, monstrosities are notoriously hard creatures to understand. This is especially true for the Merry Monstrosity, as the Merry Monstrosity is no ordinary monstrosity. While most monstrosities contain no merriness and an average amount of monstrosity, the Merry Monstrosity has abnormally high measures of both. It was long thought that the existence of such a monstrosity was an impossibility, but we now know the Merry Monstrosity to be both frighteningly real as well as the source of much of the festive feeling felt floating through the air during the holiday season.

These shocking truths were discovered a few short years ago when the Merry Monstrosity first revealed itself at The Standing Stone of Summoning to The Two Who Stand Upon The Standing Stone of Summoning Striving To Summon Some Sort Of Something. In the years since, much more standing has been done and much more summoning has been successfully completed, but not much more about the Merry Monstrosity has actually been understood. While the Merry Monstrosity will frequently demonstrate its burning passion for the holidays by blaring out terrible shrieks to the tune of our favorite Christmas carols or by making the sky rain freshly baked gingerbread cookies, its motives and objectives (if any even exist) remain a complete mystery.

With this landmark work of holiday art, the artist gives us a glimpse into the first moment the Merry Monstrosity revealed itself to humanity. We are transported up into the clouds to stare into its perfectly square and merry eyeballs as “Deck the Halls” rings through the air. Where did the Merry Monstrosity come from? What does it want? Why do we feel so merry when we look at it? These are questions each of us must explore the answers to on our own.

I wish you and all your loved ones a joyful and peaceful holiday season.
